Valborg in Vaxholm by kayak

April is the month when winter is over and spring really gets started. The days get longer and are filled with more sunshine. Last day of April we celebrate Valborg (Walpurgis night). Spring is greeted with songs and bonfires at public gatherings all over the country. 

The dry and warm weather has resulted in a great risk of fire so bonfire in Vaxholm was organized on floating platform. It was great occasion for us to do evening kayaking in Vaxholm and celebrate Valborg by the water.

We did about 10 km kayak trip around Vaxholm. Water was sun-kissed with amazing sunset light. Hundreds of people gathered at the Norrhammen in Vaxholm to watch Valborg bonfire burning at the floating platform and listed to the live music. It was truly magical experience!
